Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern the supply of plumbing, heating and related services by Williams Plumbing & Heating (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the customer (“you”, “your”).
By accepting a quotation, booking an appointment, or instructing us to carry out work, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2. Quotations & Estimates
- All quotations are provided free of charge unless otherwise stated.
- Quotations remain valid for 30 days from the date issued.
- Estimates are provided as a guide only and may change if additional work is required.
- Any additional work requested by the customer that falls outside the original quotation may incur additional charges.
3. Booking & Appointments
- Appointment dates and times are agreed in good faith but cannot be guaranteed due to unforeseen circumstances or emergency call-outs.
- We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any delays or changes.
- Access must be provided to the property at the agreed appointment time.
4. Customer Responsibilities
The customer agrees to:
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the work area.
- Ensure water, electricity and other necessary services are available where required.
- Inform us of any known issues, hazards or previous repair attempts that may affect the work.
- Remove valuable or fragile items from the immediate work area where possible.
5. Payments
- Payment is due immediately upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- For larger projects, deposits and staged payments may be required.
- We reserve the right to request payment before commissioning equipment or ordering specialist materials.
- Late payments may result in additional charges and recovery costs where legally permitted.
6. Materials & Equipment
- Materials supplied by us remain our property until paid for in full.
- We reserve the right to substitute materials with equivalent products where necessary due to availability issues.
- Special-order items may require full or partial payment in advance.
7. Cancellations
- Customers should provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling where possible.
- We reserve the right to charge for missed appointments or late cancellations where significant time or materials have already been committed.
- Any special-order materials purchased specifically for a project may be non-refundable.
8. Warranties & Guarantees
- Labour carried out by Williams Plumbing & Heating is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion unless otherwise stated.
- Manufacturer warranties apply to boilers, parts, fixtures and equipment supplied and installed by us.
- Guarantees do not cover:
- Misuse or neglect.
- Third-party alterations or repairs.
- Existing faults not identified during the original visit.
- General wear and tear.
- Damage caused by external factors beyond our control.
9. Emergency Call-Outs
- Emergency call-out services may be subject to additional charges.
- Charges will be explained where possible before work commences.
- Emergency attendance does not guarantee immediate completion if specialist parts are required.
10. Limitation of Liability
- We maintain appropriate public liability insurance.
- Our liability is limited to the value of the work undertaken.
- We shall not be liable for indirect, consequential or financial losses, including loss of income or business interruption.
- Nothing within these Terms excludes liability where exclusion would be unlawful under UK legislation.
11. Existing Systems & Hidden Defects
- Plumbing and heating systems can contain concealed defects that are not apparent during initial inspection.
- We cannot be held responsible for faults or failures arising from pre-existing issues that become apparent during or after our work.
- Where additional defects are discovered, we will advise you before carrying out further work wherever possible.
12. Property Protection
- We take reasonable care to protect your property during our work.
- Due to the nature of plumbing and heating work, some disruption may be unavoidable.
- Customers should notify us of any concerns immediately upon completion of the work.
13. Photographs
- We may occasionally take photographs of completed work for quality control, training or marketing purposes.
- No personal information or identifying details will be published without consent.
14. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible so we can investigate and attempt to resolve the matter promptly and fairly.
15. Privacy
Any personal information collected during the course of our business relationship will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection laws.
16. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
